Government Spokesperson Attributes Successful Water Festival to New Administration

PHNOM PENH: Government spokesperson Pen Bona lauded the success of the Prime Minister and his administration in overseeing a peaceful, orderly and joyous Water Festival this week.

Pen Bona said that millions of Cambodians and foreign tourists came to celebrate in Phnom Penh and the provinces under the umbrella of peace with great happiness and good order.

The spokesperson interpreted the festival’s success as clear evidence that Prime Minister Hun Manet’s leadership guarantees peace and the social, political and economic stability established by his father, former Prime Minister Hun Sen. He said that Cambodia’s peace and social stability is a solid foundation that allows entertainment of the Cambodian people as well as Foreign tourists. The spokesperson also declared the revival of tourism post-Covid, saying that millions of domestic travelers spread throughout the country, while foreign tourists also got in on the fun of the holiday.

The government spokesperson said that happy Cambodians is a reflection of the long-reigning Cambodian People’s Party’s (CPP) success under the leadership of the current and former Prime Ministers to build and develop the country in a way that benefits the people.

He declared the event another undeniable achievement of the Royal Government led by Prime Minister Hun Manet, who has been in office just over 90 days.

He said, "This new achievement will be recorded in addition to the many achievements that the Royal Government of the seventh mandate achieved for the motherland and the people of Cambodia under the cool shade of the King and with strong support from the people from all walks of life."
